3 Great Steps To Take When Maintaining A Residential Pool

If you have a pool on your property, maintenance is important to master. When you do, your pool will be clean and won't get anyone sick. Pool maintenance won't be that difficult either, as long as you take these steps.

1. Test pH Regularly

The pH of your pool's water is something that should never be taken lightly. It needs to be perfectly balanced because otherwise, bacteria could grow and make your pool very unsafe to swim in. Testing your pool's pH isn't that difficult, thankfully.

As long as you have a kit and follow its directions step-by-step, you should be able to find out what the water's pH is quickly. If it's off according to what the kit recommends your levels be at, then be sure to make the proper adjustments. Get in the habit of checking this pH too, just as a precaution.

2. Skim All Depths

In terms of keeping your pool aesthetically pleasing and clean, you'll want to skim all depths. This won't be difficult when you invest in the right skimmer. Try choosing a model that's lightweight and adjusts in height. You then won't have trouble maneuvering it around your pool.

Make sure you skim until all leaves and other debris are out completely. If skimming manually isn't feasible because of a busy schedule, then consider investing in an automatic skimmer. It will scrub your pool's surface clean from top to bottom. You can even set custom cleaning schedules for these machines, depending on how dirty your pool gets.

3. Have Pool Inspected Professionally

Even if nothing seems to be wrong with your pool, you still could benefit from a professional inspection every couple of years. A professional pool repair technician can come out and assess the structural integrity of your pool.

If they notice any red flags, they'll make a note of them in a thorough report. Any dire repairs that are necessary will be highlighted so that you can act on them quickly. This way, the problems don't become worse and cost you a lot more money.

Having a pool is great since it means you can swim whenever you want. However, it does require a lot of maintenance on your part. Make sure you know what's required of you from the very beginning, so that chronic repairs and problems don't cause you unnecessary stress. If you ever need help, there are plenty of pool repair/cleaning companies you can hire today.

Talking About Pool Seal Replacement

Hi there, I am Carrie Burke. The pool at my old house always seemed to spring a leak in the winter. I had a pool repair professional identify the cause of the constant leaks after living in that home for several years. The contractor let me know that the seals around the pump housing were slowly going bad. Replacing one seal at a time was just prolonging the maintenance process and causing damage to the electrical components inside the housing. I elected to have all of the seals replaced at the same time to prevent future leaks. I will use this site to detail the seal replacement process for you all. I hope that you can use the information I provide to keep your pool in perfect condition. Thank you for visiting my site.
